Stand Against the Big Auto Lobby

Every year there are thousands of automobile deaths on American roads. According to the NHTSA there were 28,190 deaths in 2020 alone.

11,654 of those involved alcohol! Every year thousands die as a result of legally sold automobiles and legally purchased alcoholic beverages. Not to mention intentional homicides committed with cars like at the Christmas parade in Waukesha Wisconsin where over 60 people were targeted.  5 people were killed and 40 injured in a racially motivated automobile attack. The driver Darrell Brooks posted repeatedly on social media his hatred for white people and wishes to harm them. Brooks mother says her son, the driver was mentally ill. Did no one see or report the Red Flags?

I’d like to propose a few Common Sense Automobile laws.

1.           Statistics show young drivers have the most accidents. I’d propose the legal age for operating an automobile to be raised to 25 when the brain is fully developed.

2.           Before someone can purchase a car they should be required to get a background check screening for mental health and marijuana use. Further, private sales or title transfers should be required to go through a licensed Automobile dealer. Close the home sale gap.

3.           Social Media should also be reviewed by the NHTSA for possible Red Flags, For instance Darrell Brooks the Christmas parade killer had Facebook Posts about hatred and violence against White people and Jews. Social Media companies should be compelled to label, take down and report such posts to the NHTSA.

4.           An Automobile is for transportation. No one needs a sports car to get to the store or work. I propose all new cars sold be no bigger than four cylinders or low watt electric. A Federal license with strict regulation should be required to own or sell a sports car, SUV or off road vehicle.

Sadly we are up against the Big Auto Lobby. An organization called the AAA (American Automobile Association) with over 60 million members. They formed in 1902 and admit to lobbying for and “standing up for the legal rights of all travelers.” As President Biden has said, ‘ no right is absolute.’ In spite of all the carnage in our country they are still planning an annual convention in Seattle Washington in November. We need to shame and boycott all who attend especially the speakers! Furthermore any National Sporting events should be pulled from Seattle in protest.

Only by enacting Common Sense Automobile Laws and standing against the Big Auto Lobby can we end the needless carnage on our roads.

Next we should tackle Big Alcohol, reinstate prohibition. No one needs to drink alcohol.
