Anniversary of George Floyd's death, what are they celebrating?

While there is nothing to celebrate about George Floyd's death, there is certainly nothing to celebrate about George Floyd's life.

Today there are 'celebrations,' commemorations, and even forced moments of silence in our Minnesota Public Schools. Even a trip to the White House for the Floyd family and their now wealthy lawyer.

Ask yourself as parents, is this a life you want your children to emulate? Do you want them to emulate his history of armed robbery? Prison stints? Drug abuse? His last day dying in police custody after passing counterfeit $20 bills?

For the last year I've heard that somehow his death and the conviction of Officer Chauvin was a vindication of 'systemic racism.'

Can anyone tell me how race even factored into this? If it did I'm sure Keith Ellison would have charged it out as a racially motivated hate crime. He didn't. Yet MN Governor Walz and many others are touting this as something that focused the 'World' on systemic racism.

No, it's a tragic death to a tragic life being exploited for political purposes.

There is nothing to celebrate.
