The disastrous results of Covid 19 in hot spots like New York City is a perfect example of what would happen if the Electoral College were eliminated. The left has been arguing for years that Presidential elections should be decided by majority vote, not the Electoral College. They cry (when they lose) it's not fair for Middle America to have an equal say in the election. They claim the minority is nullifying the will of the majority. Middle America argues the Electoral College should not be eliminated or else  New York, California and Florida would decide every election. The citizens of the Midwest have differing ideas than New York and shouldn't be governed by them. Along comes the Covid 19 pandemic. New York for many reasons was hit hardest. However, New York level solutions, like the closing of businesses and lock downs was applied to most of America. Businesses were closed and jobs lost in areas with NO deaths from Covid 19.  V This is a tale of 2 Minnesota businesses. I frequent and like both of them and recommend them to everyone.. They are two very popular Minnesota businesses being treated very differently by Governor Walz. One is Minnesota's Largest Candy Store in Jordan MN. It has been allowed to open and rumor is can have up to 200 people inside at a time. The other is Betty's Pies north of Duluth MN. Yes, Betty's Pies is "allowed" to do pick up for pie, but as a North Shore stop the restaurant is closed. They employ around 100 employees during the travel season, but right now only 5 or 6. In short this business that has been there since 1956 is dying. What makes one business 'essential' and another not? The sole opinion of the Governor? It is essential to the owners, employees, customers and community. I find it hard to believe people cannot decide for themselves if they feel comfortable sitting inside or not.
